I seem to have recovered from Monday's climb up the mountain.
Today we went for a seven mile ride down the Connecticut River, from Orford, NH to North Thetford, VT. Jeremy and my SIL were in kayaks, my FIL and I piloted a canoe with Aenea riding along as passenger. About halfway down the river, we toured around this little tributary. We saw this deer crossing the river, but I could not get the camera out and get a good shot before he ran away. Then as we were coming back to the river, there he was, standing on the bank eating ripe red berries. I took about 40 shots, and this was the best. The wonders of digital photography.

Very pretty. And it didn't fling itself at you and damage the canoe (lady at knitting had a deer fling itself at her car and it was totaled--happens a lot here). But, they are lovely creatures when firmly planted in a rural setting. Keep enjoying that vacation.
