Doing the tourist thing

We've been busy tourists the last several days. I can't think of one picture to sum it up; I'll have to upload pictures to our dotphoto account and send a link. I'll also send some links to the places we visited.

Thursday we went to VINS and hiked down into Quechee Gorge. That evening we went to a folk concert series being held in South Stratfford. The evening's entertainment was provided by a band for which one of my three Mothers-in-Law plays hammered dulcimer. I'll get into more detail on that "three Mothers-in-Law" comment in some other post, but it has nothing to do with polygamy, just how these three women relate to my life.

Back to our vacation. On Friday, we went to the Shelburne Museum in the rain, and spent about 4 hours there, getting to see the Georiga O'Keefe paintings, the wooden circus parade and the Ticonderoga. We then took a 1.5 hour cruise on Lake Champlain and made it back to Hanover in time for an astronomical viewing, in-between breaks in the clouds.

Today we stayed close by. We went to the Farmer's Market in Norwich, the Thetford Fair, took a dip in the Norwich Pool and in the evening saw a production of The Good Doctor put on by the Hanover Footlighters at the Eclipse Grange, a community theater in Thetford that holds a special place in Jeremy's heart.

Sunday we are looking at going to the Montshire and then going to the family celebration of my Father-in-Laws recent marriage.
