Girls in trees!

Aenea is front and center in the tank top. The party at the bookstore was great. There were about 20 kids there, 15 celebrating Aenea's birthday. All of them won "pitiful prizes" and received copies of the book. We shared Aenea's cake with all the kids at the event, and we still ended up bringing some home.

The sleepover crew went right outside to enjoy the yard in the last minutes of daylight in a beautiful sunset. Then we all came in for pizza, pasta, snacks, DDR and The Series of Unfortunate Events Movie. We blew up the queen sized air matress on the floor of the family room, and between that and the couch everyone found a place to sleep. I didn't hear any nosies after midnight and the girls were up and about around 7 or so. By 8 AM they were out the back door to go play in the yard. Jeremy snapped this picture between several crazy inventions of devices and games they made. They also found the skull of an opossum that was killed about a year ago. I'm going to bleach that and they are bringing it in for sharing: "Look what we found at Aenea's party!"

A perfect Friday the 13th of October, 2006.

It sounds like a wonderful party! Such a fun theme! I've never heard of having a b'day party at a bookstore - I wonder if they do those around here? It is a great idea. I just read about giving "books for treats" for Halloween TNTers. I'd love to do that, but I think I will have to wait until next year, collecting books all year long.

It helps if you have known the manager since the store opened and she was managing the children's section :-)
