Computer class for the Upper Elementary this week was to work with Picasa. I loaded it up and pointed it to the folder on the network drive where 3 years worth of pictures were accumulated. After that, I pretty much told the student's "don't be afraid to press the buttons and see what happens, you can always undo it later." WOW, what a great time--it was like finger-painting but without the mess! I'll have to upload some of their enhancements to a website (can't do that now as I am at home.) We went through 100 pages of photo paper. Well worth spending my Staples reward on this. I'll let them work with Picasa for awhile and then move some of them up to Paint Shop Pro 7.
PS: Here's a cool simple and free graphing site.
Added Halloween bonus: Magic Gopher: will drive your friends who didn't take Elementary Number Theory CRAZY!!

If you can teach ME how to use Picassa, I am sure you taught the students a great deal. My favorite image was the one we did at the conference of the little girl in the fairy outfit--blurred the edges and she was the only thing in color. You will be proud to know that I use Picassa all the time now--maybe someday you can teach me photoshop....
