Saturday: I hosted at my house and led my last meeting for a non-profit that I have been involved with for 9 1/2 years. It went very well and the kids here had a lot of fun. The potluck food was great and I feel like it was a nice closure. That evening, I went over to MIL's house to practice the trio I agreed to sing in since Jeremy's Gran had been sick and didn't feel up to singing. More about that on Sunday's entry. At 8PM Jeremy and I decided I should go out and get the food for Christmas Brunch (and a few last-minute presents) It was insane, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I had a TERRIBLE time getting to sleep.
Sunday: Slept late to make up for problem getting to sleep. Played Monopoly with Jeremy, Aenea and SIL. Went to my DF's house for her traditional Christmas Eve sing-along (unfortunately, I could not imbibe in the also-traditional drinking)
At 10:15, I arrived at the church where Gran is the Choir Director thinking I would do my solo part and then duck out with the recessional at the end of the carol singing before the Mass. No such luck. I was handed two pieces of music I had never seen before and asked if I could help with the weak sopranos -- no one could sing the G' needed in one song. Eek!!! Off to the choir room to put on vestments (sorry-no pics.) I did pull off my part in the trio (complete with short solos) AND the G', and then as I went through my MIL's program, I realized there would be no recessional before the Eucharist -- what to do? I came up with an interesting series of internal compromises so my MIL would not sit out alone and also involved Aenea taking her first Communion. It was a lovely and very late evening -- because after we got home from the Mass, we still had presents to wrap.
Monday: Up early to cook brunch, which always includes my Vegetarian Sausage Gravy. We had a lovely brunch at home, with Jeremy's family and my family coming by to eat and present exchange. I got a lot of lovely pampering gifts. Had a short nap and then went and saw the house my Sis and her DH close on on Friday, then went to a family dinner with MIL's DH's family. Got a bit of knitting done, then drove home before football. I'm now ready to crash.
Tomorrow, I am driving my SIL to Miami International Airport where she takes off for a week in Italy. It's about a three hour drive. DF and I were going to do it together and make it a fun day for our DDs, but she had some late-notice family guests (sigh.) Instead Aenea and I will bring our gift cards and check out how insane any Boxing Day shopping might be.

Thanks for posting your holiday activities. The choir part sounds rather stressful, as does the religion part of that, but I am proud of you for doing it!
I cannot BELIEVE how grown-up Aenea looks in her red dress in the card she sent. Whoa.
