A Good News Day

Working this morning, I helped the 4th-6th year students on researching animal taxonomy and characteristics of each main taxonomy level and using that research to put together a document about their chosen animal. Really easy to do for those who choose Ungulates and Primates, bit harder for those choosing Nephropidae and *much* harder for those who chose Asteroids (there are 1500 species of those and they all look like sea stars!) Fortunately, they stuck with it and we all found out some interesting things, like some sea stars pry open mussels with their stomachs -- talk about rock-like abs!

After that, I went to our accountant's office to find out what she was able to do with our 1040 now that we have figured out how to properly fund our retirement account and deal with being a landlord in Vermont. That was five figures worth of good news.

Then I went to Curves where it was time for my weight and measurement so I could get back on my regular schedule. Since August 14, I've lost 4 more pounds and 4.5 inches to go with it. Annnd...I have lost enough that I am down one large "clunk" on the bottom of the scale. Hurray!
